Strategize! 7 Ideas for You Including Volunteer Recruitment
(continued)
The Worry What Ifs
Now, when I suggest this strategy to those at workshops, the ' worry what ifs' can begin to appear. What if they don't ring that week? Well, when you ring the next week, revert to Strategy 3. What if this happens a number of times with the same person? What if they don't recommend your volunteering opportunities? Then you need to discuss it with that person and you just might get some valuable feedback on why they are reluctant to provide an endorsement to assist in your volunteer recruitment.
Increasing Your Volunteer Numbers
So if the 'Hope' Strategy is not working for you in your volunteer recruitment, why not try another strategy. One organization increased their volunteer numbers by over 25% with more people saying 'yes' to volunteering for them by just changing from Strategy 1 to Strategy 4.
Now if you really want to know what strategies have worked and what strategies have not worked, across 100s of organisations, then for our Australian subscribers be there at...

I have never publicly presented so much of this information so...

Just one more idea for you...
Excellent Easter - Another Volunteer Recognition Opportunity
As Easter is coming around again, here is a reminder of a recognition tip from a previous newsletter for you. Many people recognize their volunteers at Christmas time but few people consider the potential recognition opportunity at Easter. Purchase several bags containing the really small Easter eggs. Attach with tape one of the specially designed mini thankyou cards to each one (or you can make your own) and write a quick 'themed' note...
Thanks for being so 'eggs-cellent' at what you do.
You are 'eggs-tremely' important to us!
Thanks for being an 'eggs-traordinary' example for us all.
You get the idea! Now this idea may not suit everyone but remember as Linus Pauling (US chemist and Nobel Prize winner) said..."If you want to get a good idea, get lots of ideas" and we've got plenty more coming your way in future newsletters!
Enjoy!
